Edward J. Hart Jr., age 91, resident of Orwell since 1962, passed away Thursday, February 15th. Edward was born February 4, 1927 in Endicott, the son of Edward and Cora Barton Hart. He graduated from Endicott High School. Edward served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, retiring in 1968. He served in Germany, Alaska, Japan, Texas, Syracuse and Italy. He was also employed by the US Postal Services as a mail carrier in Pulaski for seven years. He was married to Evelyn Schaub on April 16, 1977 and she passed away December 28, 2001, and he had been previously married to Annie M. Fry who passed away in 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Jean E. Hart and her husband Keith S. Sowa of Michigan and Anne E. Hart of Massachusetts, three grandsons, Jacob Howell, Jan Howell, and Joshua Burday, one granddaughter, Jessica Curtis, two step-granddaughters, Sara Parks and Stephanie Graff, one great-granddaughter, Hayzel Curtis and two step-great grandchildren, Joseph and Audrey Spencer. Edward was predeceased by one son, Gary E. Hart who passed away in 1977.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 20th, at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street Pulaski with a spring burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Calling hours will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the funeral.
