Lucille H. Joss, age 83, resident of Lacona for the past 64 years, passed away Thursday at Hospice of Jefferson County. Lucille was born January 13, 1936 in Syracuse, the daughter of Melzer and Erma Tracy Clark. She graduated from Baldwinsville High School in 1954 and was Senior Women’s Athlete of the Year. After high school she worked at Beneficial Finance. On April 30, 1955, Lucille married Otto E. Joss. She and her husband worked side-by-side and owned and operated a dairy farm in Lacona for 55 years. Lucille was a member of the Young Farmers Association and the Sandy Creek Adult Volley Ball league. Otto and Lucille enjoyed their travels across the country, Alaska, Hawaii and Nova Scotia. Lucille enjoyed spending her winters in Florida and her summers at their camp on Sandy Pond. Her flower gardens kept her busy and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Surviving are her husband, Otto E., two daughters, Bonnie Joss of Clearwater, FL and Karen Joss of Central Square, two sons, Timothy Joss of North Syracuse and Russell (Jeanette) Joss of Weston, FL, sisters, ErmaLouise (George) Senysgyn, and Lois Downing both of Oceanside, CA, and a brother, Glen Clark of Baldwinsville, grandchildren, Jeremy (Heather) Joss, Domenic Galimi, Gabriella (Chris) Griffin, Phillip Yerdon, Gabriel Yerdon, Olivia Joss and Adriana Joss. Lucille was predeceased by one son, Bernard Joss on January 19, 2014, grandson Jacob Joss on April 5, 2015, and two sisters, Gladys and Marion.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 18th at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with a spring burial in Boylston-Wesleyan Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
