On Wednesday, June 10th, 2020, Silas James Taylor opened his eyes and looked into the face of his Savior. He was born sleeping in this life, alive forever in Glory. In our grief we cling to this promise, that one day “we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” Psalm 27:13. Silas is in the loving arms of Jesus, and although, like King David, we cannot bring him back, we shall go to him, and on that day we are promised in Revelation 21:4, “He will wipe away every tear from our eyes. There will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain. For the old things have passed away.” On that day, we will see Silas running up fast behind Jesus, and finally we will breathe in our sweet boy, see his gorgeous eyes for the first time, and feel his weight crushed against us. And what a day of rejoicing that will be! Come Lord Jesus!
Silas is survived by his parents, Bradley and Patricia Taylor, of Mexico, NY; and his brothers Isaiah, Gideon, Uriah, Judah, Ezra, and Noah. His grandparents, Joseph and Valerie Raffa, of New Haven, NY and Philip and Marjorie Marks of Mexico, NY. Surviving also are great grandmothers Audrey Raffa of Pulaski, NY and June Boardmen of Sylvan Beach, NY, as well as a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his brother, Micah Taylor, his great grandparents Charles “Chip” and Barbara Corbett of Scriba, NY and Harry Raffa of Pulaski, NY.
A graveside service will be held at Scriba North Cemetery on June 19th for close family members and will be officiated by Pastor George Waggoner. Arrangements by Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
