Edward J. Curry

Edward J. Curry, age 84, life resident of Redfield and Pulaski passed away Friday May 6, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. Edward was born August 23, 1937, in Redfield, the son of Leland and Doris York Curry. He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1957 and he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 until 1963. Edward was married to Joyce Namitz on September 30, 1963, and she passed away March 26, 1984. He was employed by the Oswego County Highway Department in Pulaski as a heavy equipment operator for many years, retiring in 1999. He previously owned and operated Ed’s Barber Shop in Pulaski for several years. Ed was a member of the Robert Edward Post #358 American Legion in Pulaski and the St. James Episcopal Church in Pulaski. Ed volunteered many years to local baseball organizations, including Pulaski Little League and American Legion baseball.

 

Surviving are two sons, John (Linda) Curry of Pulaski and Steven Curry of Pulaski.  Two grandsons, Matthew (Christie) Curry and Thomas Curry (Amanda Brooks) both of Pulaski, and a great-granddaughter, Chloe. Two brothers L. Richard Curry of Redfield and Bernard (Marion) Curry of Pulaski, one sister, Connie Mothersell of Sandy Creek and his faithful Black Lab, Mac, along with several nieces and nephews.

 

A graveside service will be held noon, Friday May 13th at Redfield Cemetery. Arrangements by Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.

 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of choice.
