Obituary of James L. Youker
James L. Youker, 78 of Pulaski, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 14th, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Pulaski, the youngest child of Harold and Zada (Furman) Youker. He graduated from Pulaski Academy Central School and SUNY Canton with a business degree. He enlisted in the Army Reserve where he served six years. Jim married Linda Maxwell on August 15th, 1964 and they raised two sons. The majority of his business career was spent at Schoeller Technical Papers in the purchasing department.
Jim was an avid golfer and member at the Elms Golf Club. He enjoyed building model airplanes, painting, and spending winters in New Smyrna Beach. He was a member of the Gray Barons Drum and Bugle Corp after high school and later worked as an instructor for the APW color guard and marching band. In 2012 he was inducted into the Mid-York Color Guard Circuit Hall of Fame in recognition of his decades of dedication as an instructor and judge.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Harold and mother, Zada. He is survived by his wife Linda of 54 years, his sons Alan (Heidi) of Baldwinsville and Kurt (Cheryl) of Sandy Pond, his brother John (Barb) of South Glens Falls, and grandchildren Trinity, Bradlee, Morgan, and Corrie. Jim was a loving husband and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Calling hours will be held at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Park Street, Pulaski from 3-6pm on Thursday April 18th. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday April 19th at 11:00am. Burial will be at the Pulaski Village Cemetery following the service.
