Obituary of Peggy Haskins
Peggy J. Haskins, 79, of Little Rock, AR, formerly of Pulaski, NY, passed from this life in the early hours of August 11, 2019 after a long illness. She was born in Elko, NV on October 9th, 1939 to Frank and Verne Strange. She was an avid quilter that spent much of her time making handmade quilts for those that needed them. She donated her time and energy to Romans 1:16 Ministries, as well as caring for her cats. She donated quilts to a number of organizations, including From His Throne Ministries as well as Jericho Way.
Peggy worked a variety of jobs throughout her life. She was known to many as the “Toy Lady” At Ames Department store in Pulaski, NY for a number of years. After that, she could be found at the Byrne Dairy store, also in Pulaski. In 2009, she moved to Little Rock to live with her son, Brian, and his wife Donna.
Peggy is predeceased by her parents and her husband, Howard R. “Pete” Haskins of Pulaski, NY. She is survived by her children Kemi Andersen, 60, of Williston, ND; Kobi (Elsa) Spencer, 59, of Saginaw (FT Worth), TX; Debbie Cameron Loi, 58, of Atlanta, GA; And Brian (Donna) Haskins, 55, of Little Rock, AR; and many, grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m., at The Mercy Church, 8705 Scott Hamilton Dr, Little Rock, AR 72209. Peggy was a member of The Gathering, a home church in Little Rock, and her pastor, Eldred Joe Stricklin will be officiating the Little Rock service. Close friend, Doug Cox will also offer a few words. There will be a reception to follow.
Additionally, funeral services will be held at noon, Thursday, August 22nd at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street Pulaski, with burial at Daysville Cemetery, Pulaski. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, prior to the funeral.
