Ruth C. Stassi, age 91, resident of Syracuse passed away Saturday, April 30th, 2022 at Elderwood Nursing Home in Liverpool. Ruth was born April 27, 1931, in Boylston, the daughter of Bert and Myrtle Palmateer Nemier. She graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1949. Ruth was married to James Stassi on September 25, 1965, and he passed away September 15, 2018. She and her husband owned and operated Stassi Electrical Contracting for 55 years.

Ruth was the ultimate Homemaker. She loved to cook, bake, and entertain. She was a skilled crafter, her talents ranged from quilting to crochet to beading and ceramics. Ruth loved to square dance, she and Jim were members of Pairs and Squares Square Dancing Group for many years. Ruth loved the Christmas holidays, Jim and Ruth made a huge Christmas decoration display on their house for many years, people came from all over to see it. Her favorite place to vacation was Lake George, NY, where she and her family traveled together every summer since 1967.

Ruth had an incredible memory for the details of the lives of those she loved. She was a Birthday Savant who remembered the dates of birth of practically everyone she ever met.

Ruth was devoted to her family and anyone and everyone her children and grandchildren loved became family to her as well. All were welcome in her home and in her heart. Ruth is loved beyond words by her surviving family and all who knew her. The center of our Family, she will be deeply missed.

Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn (John) Barbato of Liverpool, one son, Marc Caufield of Boston, MA, three grandchildren, Lynn (Michael) King, Nicholas (Erika) Barbato and Dan (Dara) Barley, one great-grandchild, Sebastian King, and several nieces and nephews.
